Yusuf Isak Abdirahman (Yusuf Banani) is a Senior Media and Communications Assistant with IOM Somalia, specializing in multimedia content collection and strategic communications across the Organization’s humanitarian, stabilization, and development programmes.

He provides comprehensive communications coverage through photography, videography, drone operations, and the production of success and human-interest stories that highlight community resilience and the impact of IOM’s interventions across Somalia.

Yusuf holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management Science from Horsed University, a Diploma in Sociology and Social Work from Somali National University, and a Diploma in Digital Storytelling from Digital Shelter and Somali Public Agenda. Fluent in Somali and English, Combining technical skill, narrative craft, and field experience from missions across Somalia, he contributes to high-quality communication outputs that amplify IOM’s work and strengthen donor visibility
